Oculoplastic Surgery
Dr. Lisa Jagan, BHSc MD FRCSC
Dr. Lisa Jagan obtained her Bachelor of Health Sciences degree at McMaster University before heading to Queen's University where she completed her Medical Degree, Residency in Ophthalmology, and a Fellowship in Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She has authored a number of scientific publications in the field, and has a special interest in medical education. This includes work funded by the Southeastern Ontario Academic Medical Organization (SEAMO) Endowed Scholarship program to validate a simulated eye model that surgeons can practice on in order to refine their procedural skills and learn new techniques. She has also been awarded a Queen's University Open Education Resources grant to co-author an oculoplastic procedural textbook for novice surgeons.
Dr. Lisa Jagan's surgical expertise in oculoplastics can be more plainly described as plastic surgery for the eyelids. This includes droopy eyelids (ptosis), excess skin above the eyelids (dermatochalasis), abnormal in-turning or out-turning of the eyelids (entropions and ectropions), chalazion excisions (styes), cosmetic excision of lumps and bumps on or around the eyelids, and finally, functional and cosmetic botox. Her surgical philosophy centers on creating a refreshed but natural outcome.
