Plastic Surgery

Dr. Alex Corneman, BSc, MD, FRCSC

Dr. Corneman is the Plastic Surgery Division Head at Grand River Hospital and St. Mary's General Hospital based in Waterloo, Ontario as well as a clinical assistant professor of surgery with McMaster University. He completed his undergraduate degree at Bishop's University in Quebec, followed by medical school at Queen's University. He then moved to Hamilton for his Plastic Surgery residency training at McMaster University. He is board-certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

He enjoys a wide range of acute and elective conditions managed by plastic surgeons and certainly not limited by this list. This includes skin cancer, upper extremity trauma, elective hand surgery, craniofacial fractures, peripheral nerve pathology, burns, and breast reconstruction. He also has an interest in elective and cosmetic surgery such as simple soft tissue "lumps and bumps", liposuction, gynecomastia, abdominoplasty, and massive weight loss body contouring.

His goal is to work with patients to provide an optimal marriage of form and function to best serve their needs and improve quality of life. He believes the best course of treatment is formulated through personalized discussion with his patients and he looks forward to serving his community... while hopefully fitting in a few rounds of golf on his days off.
